You would need to take it to a shop who has the machine. When you load up the alternator heavily it is normal for the bearing noise to increase slightly. As far as checking belt tension, there are a few methods. You can buy a belt deflection gauge which will tell you with great accuracy. Or you can shoot for 1/4" deflection on the alternator belt, the FSM shows you where the deflection should occur. Some like the method of twisting the belt, it should not twist past 90*. Also an alternator rebuild shop should be able to bench test your alternator if you have it removed.
